Rise and Shine：该起床了，太阳都晒屁股了

想必各位小伙伴小时候都被父母催过床：“快起来，太阳都晒屁股了！”如果父母会英语的话，甚至可以秀一波英语“Wake up!”

但是wake up只表示“起床”，不能表示“太阳已经升起”。如果想要表达早上已经过了的起床，就可以用rise and shine这个习语。

显然，rise and shine都是用来形容太阳的，rise是升起，shine是照射，这是在说太阳已经升起来照耀地面了，你丫的还不起床干嘛。这就和中文里“太阳都晒屁股了”有异曲同工之妙。

下面我们通过一些具体的例子来了解rise and shine的含义：

从上面的例子可以看到，rise and shine的用法很简单，就等价于wake up，只不过是特指早上催人起床，而wake up可以用在任何场景。

Rise and Shine的出处

最早使用rise and shine这个表达的是在圣经中，在Isaiah 60:1中：“Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.”这里的rise和shine是字面意思的太阳升起。

后来在1658年William Erbery的一本书中提到：“They [the Christian saints] shall so rise and shine, that the glory shall rise upon them.”显然，这里的rise and shine还是有关宗教。依旧不是现在“起床”的用法。

第一个非宗教的用法出现在1824年2月的The Torch Light And Public Advertiser报刊中：“We have seen the setting sun. Rise and shine with brighter beams.”然而，这里的rise and shine依然是用的它的字面意思。

Rise and shine用于今天“该起床了”的意义来自军队中对士兵早起的要求。Rise不是指太阳升起，而是指自己起床，shine不是指太阳照射，而是代指的是军人靴子的闪光。1916年美国海军陆战队的招募公告中说：“He rapped at the door and in stentorian tones cried, Rise and shine... Wiggle a toe.”这里的rise and shine，就是“起床”的意思。
